Southern Air Boeing 747-2L5B N815SA first flew on December 5, 1980. Its construction number is 22107. It was delivered to Varig as PP-VNC on April 5, 1981. CAthay Pacific acquired it and leased it to Air Hong Kong as VR-HMF. Air HOng Kong registered it as B-HMF on August 5, 1997 and returned it to Cathay Pacific on July 1, 2002. Air Mobility Incorporated bought it on January 9, 2009 and leased it to Southern Air as N815SA on April 20, 2009.

Brian Lockett is a photographer specializing in panoramic landscape and aviation photography. He started with a Kodak Brownie in the 1960s. He got his first 35mm camera in 1973 and had a lengthy addiction to Kodachrome. He transitioned to digital photography in 2004. Brian's territory is the American Southwest, primarily Arizona, California, and Nevada. Brian has long engaged in panoramic landscape photography.
